Ignition Rotor For Porsche Part # MS-1656
Correct Replacement Part A Must For Any Tune Up   Your Porsche ignition rotor fits on the center shaft of the distributor and is inside the distributor cap.  When the distributor turns the ignition rotor, the electric spark from the ignition coil is sent through the rotor to the individual contacts inside the distributor cap.  Over time, these rotors wear significantly and must be changed, often every 30,000 miles. A failing ignition rotor can cause hard starting, rough idling, and poor acceleration. It can also cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Continuing to drive with a bad ignition rotor in your Porsche can cause engine misfiring which can ultimately damage very expensive catalytic converters. Performance Products advises to replace the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor at the same time to avoid further problems down the road and keep your baby purring right.   Learn More

Spark Plug Boot Seal Part # 88-0198-2
Use At Every Plug Change Prevents Plug Boot Sticking Dynatex Spark Plug Boot Seal should always be used inside spark plug boots and distributor boots to eliminate spark leaks common to HEI and hi-performance ignition systems. Applied in a thin coat, the seal acts as a voltage insulating gel by filling air gaps. The seal also prevents rubber deterioration and stops plug boot sticking. Did you know? Many people in our hobby refer to spark plug boot seal as dielectric grease. Learn More

Porsche® MSD 6AL Ignition Control Box 1948-2013 Part # P909926
Multiple Spark For Cleaner Burn Smoother Power Heres a theory almost anyone can buy into: more sparks per combustion cycle help extract every last bit of energy from your fuel. Theories are fine, but weve seen a lot of them disproved in the real world, so we tested the MSD 6AL multi-spark discharge CD. On our chassis dyno, our 912E gained a bit over 10 more horsepower after we installed an MSD6AL 909926 CD. That was more than we expected. On the track, we installed a 909926 on a 912E, and the driver was able to cut a full two seconds off his previous lap times. In fact, he set a new class record. MSD has exceeded our highest expectations and we found other benefits beyond the horsepower increase. You also get a smoother-running engine and improved throttle response as well. The way it works is shown in the graph above. Instead of one spark, the MSD unit sparks continuously through 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation to burn all the air/fuel mixture. The 909926 features an adjustable rev limiter you can set to 6000, 7000 or 8000 rpm. Adding the RPM Module Selector allows you to adjust the limit from 6000 to 8200 in 200 rpm increments. The 909926 can be used on all 12-volt Porsches, is street legal in all 50 states. Note: Cars with electric tach need the Tach Adapter. MSD ignitions require hi-spark coil's. For All 12 Volt Cars. Spark Plug Wires Black Hotwires For Porsche® Part # MS-1740
Built-In Energy Storage Capacitor 2% -4% More Horsepower Reduced Emissions Products have promised hotter sparks for 50 years. We almost gave up waiting, until dyno tests proved that HotWires really work. The secret? Each wire houses a capacitor to accumulate the energy from the ignition until it discharges a more powerful spark. Even with a nearly perfect ignition system, we saw 2-4% more horsepower, better fuel burn and reduced emissions on our own dyno tests. If you have a dirty-running engine, HotWires will give you a better chance of meeting the new emission standards. NOTE: Due to the High Capacity Discharge of these wires radio interference may occur.
