Head Stud, Dilavar Style, A286 Steel/Painted, Fits 911 1974 -98, 24 Per Car Made in the U.S.A Part # P901536
That exhaust leak you hear in your 911 may actually be the cylinder head leaking where the studs have pulled loose. As Porsche increased displacement of the 911 engine, the different rates of thermal expansion have caused head studs to break or pull out from engine case. These latest aftermarket steel head studs have a thermal expansion rate of approximately the same as the alloy case. Unlike original Dilivar material our studs are made in the USA and are magnetic. We recommend these studs be installed in groups of 12. Do not mix with different studs on same side of engine to insure exact expansion rates. Learn More

Timesert Insert, 10mm, For Porsche®, 1965 -1998 Part # P910081
TIME-SERT® is a solid bushing insert. This guarantees easy installation and allows for full load use of tapped hole, ensuring protection against stress and vibration. TIME-SERT® is thin walled due to synchronized internal external threads. Thin cross sectional area allows for installation in areas of limited space and clearance material. TIME-SERT® Positive Placement. Having a flange on the top of the insert will insure that the insert will have positive placement and cannot wind down into the newly repaired hole. TIME-SERT® is self locking. On installation the bottom internal threads of the insert are cold rolled to expand the mating external threads into the base material locking the insert in place. Locking mechanism is at the bottom of insert Learn More

Timesert Insert, 10mm, For Porsche®, 1965 -1998 Part # P910082
12 Piece Set As Porsche increased the displacement of the 911 engine, the different rates of thermal expansion between the head studs and the alloy engine case halves caused head studs to break or pull out of the case. The first sign may be a sound like an exhaust leak, but it could be a cylinder head leaking where the studs have pulled loose. Porsche first attempted to solve the problem with Dilavar studs. Recently, Porsche replaced Dilavar studs with steel studs. The new studs are used on all 911 engines since 1990 and feature a micro-encapsulated surface designed to prevent corrosion (which now appears to have been a major cause of snapping head studs). These new studs also come with the case end threads coated with a locking compound. We offer the new micro-encapsulated studs with locking compound. (Make sure the threads in the case are free of dirt and oil; and be careful in installation not to scratch the stud coating). They can be installed individually, but most professional shops install a complete 24-stud set, as they believe this is cheap insurance against tearing the engine down a second time. Fit all 911, 930, 964, 993. Buy individually or get package savings. Learn More
