Ignition Rotor For Porsche Part # MS-1656
Correct Replacement Part A Must For Any Tune Up   Your Porsche ignition rotor fits on the center shaft of the distributor and is inside the distributor cap.  When the distributor turns the ignition rotor, the electric spark from the ignition coil is sent through the rotor to the individual contacts inside the distributor cap.  Over time, these rotors wear significantly and must be changed, often every 30,000 miles. A failing ignition rotor can cause hard starting, rough idling, and poor acceleration. It can also cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Continuing to drive with a bad ignition rotor in your Porsche can cause engine misfiring which can ultimately damage very expensive catalytic converters.
