K&N’s state-of-the-art high-flow intake system is guaranteed to boost horsepower and improve throttle response by replacing the 996’s restrictive factory air tract. Repeated dyno tests on several 996s have shown that the K&N Intake adds 23 horsepower, without requiring custom programming. The intake system provides a new open element, 360-degree oversize conical High-Flow technology continues as the filter is isolated from high engine temperature by a heat shield. The next step is to improve the air path between the filter and the motor with a heat-resistant intake tube that formed and shaped to drive a more luminar flow of air to the engine. The black molded High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) tube is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials that ensure long life. For normally aspirated 996 only and will not fit GT3.
