Porsche® 911 Engine, Oil Cooler Line, 1974-1989
- Genuine Porsche® Part
- Thermostat to Front Oil Cooler
- Oil Return Pipe
The lines that attach the engine to the front-mounted external oil cooler fitted by the factory on many 911s. These lines age with the car, and often develop leaks that can only be fixed by replacing the entire line.
The thermostat referred to in the description here is the external unit located right in front of the right rear wheel (not the one inside the engine). This thermostat regulates the oil supply in these lines in order to protect the oil cooler from seeing oil pressures that are too high.
These lines are only for cars equipped with a front mounted external oil cooler.
